My Story

Sean has called Katy home for more than 30 years. This is where he’s built his life, raised his family, and committed himself to serving students and families in our school district. As a husband and father, Sean understands how deeply schools impact families, not just academically, but in shaping confidence, opportunity, and a sense of belonging.

Sean is a Texas State University alumnus and a lifelong educator whose career has been rooted in the classroom. He has spent years working directly with students and teachers as a paraprofessional, in-class support teacher, case manager, and Title I reading interventionist in early and middle schools. Much of his work has focused on supporting students who need extra help, including ESL learners, 504 students, and those receiving special education services. Sean has seen firsthand how meaningful support, patience, and consistency can change a child’s path.

Throughout his career, Sean has been the kind of educator who shows up early, stays late, and does the behind-the-scenes work that keeps classrooms running. He has worked closely with teachers, support staff, and families, gaining a practical understanding of what schools need day to day and how important collaboration and trust are to student success.

Sean is a proud member of the Texas AFT union and believes deeply in respecting the work of educators and school staff. He values fairness, honesty, and the dignity of hard work — values shaped by his experience as a working-class family man and by years spent supporting students who are often overlooked.

Outside of school, Sean enjoys time with his family and their three cats, who keep life at home entertaining. Katy isn’t just where Sean lives — it’s the community that shaped him, and it’s the one he’s committed to serving with care, humility, and common sense.
