I believe in striving for excellence in education and staying connected as a community — listening to one another, showing up, and working together. When we do that, our voices truly can help shape a brighter future for our students and for Katy.
Sean Hesterly
Sean has proudly called Katy home for over 30 years. He’s a husband, a father, and a lifelong educator who has spent his career working directly in classrooms as a paraprofessional, in-class support teacher, case manager, and Title I reading interventionist. Sean has supported early and middle school students, including ESL, 504, and special education learners, often doing the behind-the-scenes work that makes a real difference for kids and teachers. A Texas State alumnus and Texas AFT member, Sean understands schools from the inside and values hard work, fairness, and community. Katy isn’t just where he lives — it’s home, and it’s where his heart has always been.
Platform
I believe our schools should always put students first and support the families and educators who are there for them every day. We need strong academics, steady leadership, and decisions that are made thoughtfully and transparently. Most importantly, I want every child to have the opportunity to succeed and feel supported along the way. If we stay focused on what truly matters — our students — Katy ISD will continue to be a place our community is proud of.
